Trees4Trees™ is a non-profit foundation that empowers local communities with reforestation initiatives and related education programs.
The foundation distributes free seedlings of high value species including teak, mahogany, mango and other local timbers to local farmers and resident land owners. The program provides technical guidance on planting and best forestry practices in addition to long term monitoring and market assistance to help the tree growers maximize value.
Trees4Trees™ is an activity of Yayasan Bumi Hijau Lestari, a non-profit foundation, established in Indonesia to empower local communities through partnership reforestation initiatives and related education programs.
Community based forestry is acknowledged as one of the key strategies in promoting sustainable forest management and in reducing poverty in rural areas particularly in developing countries. When forestry is implemented in partnership with communities it can raise standards of living and contribute to positive development.
We believe in investing locally to develop human resources. Tree4Trees™ to the greatest extent employs local people to accomplish our goals. This provides income opportunities to the community along with imparting new skills to members of the Trees4Trees™ Team.
