The majority of the seedlings distributed by the program come from nurseries established in local communities by Trees4Trees™. All of the seedlings must meet an exacting grading standard developed by Trees4Trees™. Through implementation of this standard, healthy seedlings with superior physical and genetic properties are distributed to Trees4Trees growers. This has resulted in measurable improvements in survivability and growth rates in new plantings.

These nurseries have the added benefit of providing employment and a steady income to the communities in which they are operated. Trees4Trees™ continues to establish new nurseries in various locations in Central Java to produce seedlings for future plantings.

Planting stock records are maintained by Trees4Trees™ including the source of material, species, and provenance information.

Potential exists for tree breeding research / trials to be undertaken within the Trees4Trees™ program and its partnership plantations.
