Office is the place that working men and women spend 1/3 of their time daily, for five days every week. It’s the place where people are busy with their daily tasks. Here we give some green tips that you can do at work, so no matter how busy you are, you still can participate in helping to make the world a healthier place.
Green lifestyle isn’t just something we do at home, we can spread this way of life throughout every aspect of our lives, that includes at school. We can teach our younger generation about simple responsible behavior to help our planet. Here we give some green advice about what to do at school.
1. Sort the trash
Children can sort the trash between organic or non-organic trash. This will help them to increase their environment awareness.
2. Clean the classroom everyday
We all, individually have a carbon footprint. Everywhere, all the time. When we exhale, we release CO2, when you use paper, another tree may be cut to make more paper. We already know that carbon accumulated in the atmosphere can cause global warming which is happening right now. Climate changes are upsetting the conditions that many species need to survive and many will soon be gone forever.
“I imagine that from 21 schools that participate in this program, a time in the future when hundreds of thousands of trees or possibly even millions of trees can be planted in District of Jepara ....... this is a very challenging and delightful art and through this program I can more sharpen the capacity of communicating with the community.”
This is the dream of Mr. Ade, former Principal of SMKN 1 (High School) Jepara, who joined the Trees4Trees tree planting program in 2008 as an Area Manager.
Trees4Trees™ has a new public face. The new website has been under construction for several months with many new features and has gone live in mid-February.
Along with a new lighter, cleaner look, the site emphasizes T4T's work in the field and the benefits with more images and information our activities.
There has recently been an increased interest in joining the Trees4Trees program for the purpose of reducing or 'offsetting' CO2 emissions. One such company is ViaVia tours who had the novel idea of offsetting the carbon they release in their business of providing tours and introducing Indonesian culture to domestic and foreign tourists through planting trees.
Trees4Trees™ will have a new addition to the family. Franny the Bee will be heading up Trees4Trees' educational program.
Two years ago, when first proposed, no one in Patemon believed that they could manage a seedling nursery. With training and support from Trees4Trees™ they have gained the skills needed to run a successful community business.
You might wonder how Trees4Trees™ gets all those farmers involved in planting trees, not to mention training them and recording the planted trees? It's only possible with the assistance of people like Badrun Mukhsinin and his 74 fellow Field Coordinators.
It does not involve so many trees but a lot of soil to make a big difference at a local orphanage for boys run by the Salvation Army here in Semarang, Central Java.
